Three words come to mind when I think of this place, delectable specialty coffee –  which is exactly what 30ML Coffee Roasters is popular for. If you’re bored with the typical expressos then I highly recommend getting your coffee fix here. For all my sugar lovers try their Vanilla Bastogne macchiato, it’s like having coffee as dessert. If you’re looking for something even sweeter-go for the Caramelizer. They also serve iced lattes when the weather starts to warm up. The interior is such a chill and inviting space to hang out or get some work done. Their plant wall is definitely the eye-catching centerpiece!

Arguably the Best Coffee in Town – Ohøj Coffee Roasting 

This quaint little cafe is nestled in the western part of Utrecht is what some claim to be the best coffee in town. The coffee and beans, which are roasted in-house, are absolutely delicious. So I can see why people bike all the way across Utrecht to come here. The owner, Kevin is super friendly and knowledgeable on the distinctive coffee blends and varieties. He also makes a mean cappuccino that other cafes come hard to beat by! If you’re an avid coffee lover then I highly suggest stopping by Ohøj.

The Ultimate Cafe Ambiance – Koffie Leute

When I need a cozy space to spend some time working, studying, or catching up with a friend, Koffie Leute is my absolute go-to. It’s the embodiment of chill, vintage cafe vibes. The interior is decorated with cool, retro, and hipster finds. In fact, most locals know it as one of the most Utrecht hipster places.

There are several rooms to pick and choose from. My favorite is the one that has old-school board games and a video game console. The wifi here is also really good and reliable. I’ve literally worked on my master thesis, job applications, and website with zero interruptions. And let’s not forget about their coffee. They have a great assortment and serve nice breakfast and snack dishes. Because of the great atmosphere and nice Koffie Leute is easily my favorite spot.

Tasty Drinks in the Center of Town – Blackbird Coffee & Vintage

This cozy café located on the Oudegracht has delicious coffee and the friendliest owners. Their dirty chai is no joke and easily the best I’ve tried in Utrecht alone. My boyfriend had the double espresso and said it was one of the better ones he’s tasted. Check out the downstairs area which houses a number of cool bicycles. There are also many seating options so you can curl up on the sofa with a good book and a steaming cup of coffee. Needless to say, Blackbird Coffee & Vintage is one of my faves out of the Utrecht coffee shops.

Cozy Spot by the Canal – Koffieboontje

Another great space with a chill atmosphere and quality coffee! I love stopping by here before doing window shopping and exploring my own. Not only do they have the best dirty chai I’ve tried in Utrecht, but their cakes are simply amazing.

They Have it All + Coffee –  Stache

Although a small franchise, this takeaway café has so much to offer. Delicious sandwiches, handmade macaroons, pastries and a cool variety of products. I fell in love with Stache because of their heavenly lattes. I visit at least once a week to get their chai lattes. The best thing about Stache is that it sits right by the canal so you can enjoy the views of the city center with your snack in hand.

Atmospheric Cafe with Healthy Choices- KEEK

This is the ideal cafe to sit back, unwind, and enjoy a cup of high-quality coffee. It’s also the perfect place to enjoy brunch with friends. They have a great menu with many healthy and nutritious options – in fact, everything is grown locally! I love grabbing a cappuccino and one of their exceptional pain au chocolates to go.

Looking for a stylish place to get Instagram worthy photos but not have to sacrifice the taste of your coffee? Chiqueolatte is always at the top of my list when I think of Utrecht coffee because of the atmosphere and variety of menu choices. For all you fancy coffee lovers with a sweet tooth I recommend their coconut latte. They also have a cool concept of pod-like houses which is great for studying or catching up with friends and meeting up with a coffee date.
